Victor Fanucchi's short films have played on PBS and FxM (Fox movie channel), and have screened at the American Cinematheque (Los Angeles), Film Arts Festival (San Francisco), SXSW (Austin), Mill Valley Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival (UK), Dublin International Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Film Festival and about 20 other festivals, winning twelve festival awards. Victor Fanucchi has also edited theatrical trailers for such films as Lars Von Trier's The Idiots, Eric Rohmer's Autumn Tale, Emir Kusturica's Black Cat White Cat, the Polish brothers' Twin Falls Idaho, the documentary American Movie, and the Sundance Award winner Three Seasons, for which he won the industry's Golden Trailer Award. Fanucchi has written for Filmmaker Magazine and programmed for the LA County Museum of Art Film Department, arranging screenings and lectures by such filmmakers as Gus Van Sant, Neil LaBute and Terry Gilliam (broadcast on IFC). Jay’s a partner in the start-up company Nice Work Productions where he combines his experience developing and funding TV shows with creating program-related off-air events and products to provide multi-layered marketing benefits for sponsors. His twenty-five years experience in broadcast television production include a number of programs that received numerous awards in addition to garnering favorable attention from critics and viewers alike. As executive producer, Jay’s work ranges from a series that utilized the resources of local cultural institutions to create curriculum-based educational materials, to national PBS programs like the performance/documentary special Mahler's Beethoven Featuring the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Producer: Jen Howard
Jennifer Howard is director of major and foundation giving for Michigan Television and Michigan Radio, where she has developed a number of television and radio projects. Before coming to Michigan, Jennifer was an associate producer for the documentary production company Jonathan Diamond Associates in NYC, where she worked on projects for public television and Discovery Channel. Jennifer has also acted on stage, on screen and in voiceovers, hence she was pulled out of “retirement” for a cameo role as documentary producer Jen Broward in Beyond the Pale. As a refugee from a PhD program in Russian Language and Literature, she was especially drawn to the Beyond the Pale script. She is also a screenwriter.
Co-Producer: Debashis Mazumder
Debashis Mazumder graduated from the University of Michigan with a film degree with a specialization in writing, directing, and producing. He has produced and directed 8 short films in the past 3 years, many of which has won awards at the University of Michigan-sponsored, Lightworks Festival. Awards include, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography. He has also done work in Aachen, Germany as a videographer at the ILT-Fraunhofer Institute videotaping and editing laser experiments for presentations to other companies. Debashis has also spent some time in lovely Hollywood where he interned or worked for such companies as anonymous content, United Talent Agency(UTA), and International Creative Management(ICM) where he made many valuable contacts and friends.

Assistant Director/Co-Producer: Danny Mooney
Danny Mooney is a jack of all trades in the film world. He got his start acting in improv comedy shows, sketch comedy, and stand-up. Mooney has opened for such talent as actor/comedian Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey, “Full House”) and Comedy Central’s Dane Cook World Tour-opener J. Chris Newberg. To this date, Mooney has been cast in lead and minor parts in 24 short and feature films, has done numerous voiceovers, and has appeared in several commercials and TV pilots. He has also performed in local theatre as well as professionally in Moscow, Russia, in the International Chekhov Theatre Festival. Danny Mooney has been on the production side of eight short films in the last two years. He has a full range of credits including Director, Producer, Director of Photography, Writer, and Editor. His awards at the University of Michigan-sponsored Lightworks Film Festival include “Best Silent Film,” “Best Actor,” and “Best Screenplay.” Mooney was also one of three students at the University of Michigan this past spring to win The Trueblood Fellowship Award for Film Performance (in both acting and directing). He was the Cinematography Consultant along with the lead role in the film “Dylan,” which recently won “Best in Festival” at the UMEC Film Festival in L.A. In the past year Mooney received praise from Academy Award-winning Hollywood writer/critic Kurt Luedtke (“Out of Africa”) for his directing accomplishments in the short comedy “Step, My Boy.” Danny Mooney is currently completing his Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan with a major in Film from the Department of Screen Arts and Cultures and a minor in Drama and Performance. Bob Berg has a diverse expertise in the fields of photography, lighting, video producing, sound production and editing. His body of work has received national and international recognition, including 57 Emmy awards; 44 National Press Photographers Association awards; twice named the Regional Photographer of the Year by the N.P.P.A.; and 5 International Monitor Awards. Television production has been on ongoing educational experience. After starting his career at an independent station as a studio cameraman, Bob then became a field videographer at a PBS station where he learned to light and edit. He moved to a network affiliate, adding producing to his repertoire. He began his own company, Palindrome Productions, Inc., in 1979, a move which now enables him to utilize all those aspects of production.

Director of Photography: Preston Swigart
Preston Swigart is a veteran of broadcast and corporate televison production for longer than he cares to remember. His work has been seen in corporate boardrooms of Fortune 500 companies as well as on shows like '60 Minutes', 'Ripley's Believe it or not' and 'The Today Show'. 'Beyond the Pale' marks his first venture into the feature film realm and the silver screen. Preston is currently transitioning from 'Beyond the Pale' to 'Beyond your Doorstep', a kid's show for National Geographic television. Preston's work has been given numerous awards... though not as many as Bob Berg's. Camera Assistant/Best Boy: Michael E. Kuhn
In 2006 Michael received a BA from the University of Michigan’s Film & Video Studies and Psychology programs. He has worked as a Director of Photography, producer, editor, grip, and production assistant on numerous student film and video projects. He received the “Best Silent Film” award at the University of Michigan’s Lightworks Festival. Outside of school he has worked on various films, television pilots, and industrial projects ranging rom boom operator to camera assistant to grip to production assistant. He spent the summer of 2005 in Los Angeles where he interned for G4 Video Game Television’s show Filter, worked on My Life at Greeks, an independent television sitcom pilot, and a senior thesis project for the American Film Institute, called Auteur. His ultimate aspiration is to become a Director of Photography. Currently he is making plans to spend a little over a year in Australia and New Zealand, working and traveling, before he makes the jump to Los Angeles.

Gaffer: Ted Houser
Ted Houser is a fervent filmmaker. Graduating from the University of Michigan Film and Video program in 2005, Houser has participated in the production of over 30 student and independent short films. His improv/sketch comedy filmmaking group, Lightning Films, produced the short Silent Footsteps, also directed by Houser, which walked away with best screenplay and best of festival honors at the 2006 M-Flicks Film Festival. In addition he has been a key crewmember on three previous award-winning shorts that have played at a number of film festivals, including Cinema Slam, the Michigan Theater’s prestigious local filmmaker spotlight. An award winning Director of Photography, Kevin Hewitt is unique to the world of cinematography in the fact that he is one of the few that is proficient in Film, Video and Steadicam. Detroit born and bred, Kevin resides in Livonia, Michigan with wife Pat, and 3 children; Andrea, Ryan, and Chelsea. He operates Kevin Hewitt Corp. a production company which he founded in 1993. As a Director of Photography, Kevin has traveled the world lensing everything from a powerful documentary on the Holocaust, to Corporate Industrials, to cooking adventures in search of exotic food for the Food Network, to a series of programs on flight for the Discovery Wings and HD Theatre. Hewitt has filmed everything from local news to feature length films and everything in between. Prior to starting his own business, he worked for the NBC affiliate, WDIV-TV in Detroit. There he was the Supervisor of a seven person team that filmed and edited commercials, documentaries, music videos and special programming aimed at syndication. Kevin Hewitt began his career as a news photographer in Dayton, Ohio for WKEF, shooting daily news and feature stories. In 1979, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Communications from Bowling Green State University, where he also worked at WBGU, the Local PBS television station.

Production Design/ScriptSupervisor: Corynn O'Rourke
Corynn is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in Film & Video Studies. She has been involved in 5 student shorts in the past 2 years, serving as the DP for two of those and the producer for one. She acquired her taste for feature film production last summer in London on the set of Anthony Minghella's upcoming film, Breaking and Entering , for which she served as the personal assistant to the head of security. Since then, she has been the script supervisor on the set of Nevermore, where she learned that her nit picky, perfectionist personality is actually valued. Corynn believes fate is trying to force her in front of the camera, as she has been a prominently featured extra in every feature film she has been involved with.
 
Costume Design: Amy Julia Cheyfitz
A third year theatre student at the University of Michigan, Amy only recently started designing for film. She has, however, enjoyed working in live theatre for years. She has designed costumes for many shows, including Twelfth Night, The Mousetrap, The Merchant Of Venice, The Effect Of Gamma Rays On Man In The Moon Marigolds, Der Rattenfaenger, and co-designed Blood Wedding, Love’s Labors Lost, and Falling You’ll Fly for the International Chekhov Festival.
